We will gather at the Kunlun Hotel. Then, the hotel will provide a free shuttle to the very beautiful and impressive Lu Garden Huanghuali Art Gallery located at Longtang Lu (Guojiawucun) Beiwu, Shunyi District for our event. Lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to network with fellow Penn alumnae and current Penn students.
Lunch will be served and guests will have the opportunity to network before and after the presentation.

The cost is 200 rmb per person to be paid at the door.

TCPW was originated in 1987. The first group of its kind, TCPW has been a model for other universities in the United States which have subsequently established alumnae committees to address womens issues on their campuses.

Marsha Cooke Cooke was named Asia Bureau Chief for CBS News in 2009. Ms. Cooke has been working in Tokyo and Beijing since April 2006 alongside correspondent Barry Petersen. Shes been with CBS News since 1993, getting her start in the Los Angeles bureau and eventually producing for the "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather". Ms. Cooke is a graduate of Temple University.

Gloria Ai (艾诚) currently is a bilingual business host for China Business Network, who is responsible for covering global financial events as well as conducting high-end business interviews. Below you could find a selection of honored interviewees Ms. Ai had recently, Christine Largarde (MD of IMF), Enrique Peña Nieto (President of Mexico), Lamy Pascal (GD of WTO), Mark Carney (Governor of the Bank of England), as well as Boris Johnson (Mayor of London), Sebastian Coe (Chair of the London 2012), Angela Ahrendts (CEO of Burberry), etc.

Before China Business Network, Gloria Ai served as a bilingual business commentator for China Central TV Business Channel based in New York, or where international events happen, such as 2013 Fortune Forum, 2013 IMF Annual Meetings in DC, 2012 London Olympics, 2012 US Presidential Election, and 2012 Hannover Messe in Germany etc.. Gloria Ais previous professional experiences include working as an investment consultant for International Finance Corporation in Washington DC, and an assistant to spokesmans office at United Nations Headquarters. She has also served as a host for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, where she conducted interviews with Global 500 CEOs as well as prominent government officials from the international community.

Gloria Ai graduated from Harvard Kennedy School with a masters degree in Public Policy and Peking University with a masters degree in International Communications.
She has been honored as Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum.

Lara Farrar is a foreign correspondent currently based in Shanghai. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Press Institute (

Originally from Hot Springs, Arkansas, Lara Farrar studied journalism at Boston University. She has worked for a number of media outlets including theBoston Globe, WBUR, a National Public Radio Affiliate, CNN and The New York Times.  

In 2007, Lara returned for further study at the London School of Economics and Political Science where she obtained a masters degree in global media and communication. Since 2008, Lara has lived between Shanghai and Beijing. She spent a year working at the state-run China Daily newspaper in Beijing where she was the publications first foreign reporter to work in the news department. She now works as an accredited freelancer in China, contributing to a number of publications, includingThe New York Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Foreign Policy,the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, CNN International and Womens Wear Daily.  Lara also is a journalism lecturer at Fudan University and Shanghai International Studies University where she teaches Chinese journalism students international news reporting. In 2010, she founded China News Network, a website where Chinese students can publish their work for foreign audiences to read.
Additionally, Lara has been involved with the work of the Clinton Global Initiative in China, helping the organization connect with Chinese entrepreneurs interested in launching their own philanthropic causes.
